                                                  Creative City Challenge

On Wednesday 5th October 2016, the School of Arts & Creative Industries and Employability & Opportunities at Edinburgh Napier University came together to deliver a unique employability event. The creative city challenge was designed to highlight the highly transferable skill set in the creative sector whilst showcasing the best of arts venues and organisations in Edinburgh.

We teamed up with Stills Gallery, the Traverse Theatre, Banana Row Music Studios, Whitespace and Dovecot Studios to provide our students with a chance to explore different career avenues, put their multi-disciplinary skills to the test and be in with the chance of winning 1 of 5 mini iPad's!

5 teams of students set out on the day with clues to lead them to each participating venue . Each venue then set the teams challenges to complete all within the time constraints of one afternoon; all 5 teams, purple, green, yellow, red and blue had to make it to the Out of the Blue Drill Hall by 6pm!

The teams were also charged with documenting their journey continuously with live social media updates and finally by designing a blog to showcase their journey #enuccc.

The winning team was announced at our 20x20 event on Tuesday 11th October 2016.

Stephanie Glube, Confident Futures Advisor, commented "The creative city challenge was an amazing event which demonstrated the wonderful talent and motivation of our students. The content produced was outstanding and we are excited to see where this event can go in the future".

Emily Napier, Employer Liaison Officer, added "We want to give a massive thank-you to all the participating venues for their support and for helping us organise such a fun and rewarding day."
